After her Pre-Collage and diploma studies at ‘Mozarteum Salzburg’ and ‘Gustav Mahler Private University Klagenfurt’, her further education brought Rahel Sögner to Cologne where she did her Master’s degree in the class of Prof. Barnabás Kelemen. At the same university she completed her studies with a second Master in baroque violin in the class of Prof. Richard Gwilt in 2023. She graduated with distinction.
Further influences from Benjamin Schmid, Igor Ozim, Christian Altenburger, Tanja Becker-Bender and Susanne Scholz & Rachel Podger on the Braoque violin enriched her education.
Her main focus is on sacred music and chamber music. Over the years she did not only get quite experienced in playing Quartett and Piano Trio, but also in accompanying church service and especially in performing cantatas and oratories from Bach. As a baroque violinist she performs regularly with ensembles and orchestras such as Cölner Barockorchester, Barockorchester Bremen, Concerto Köln, Compagnia di Punto and concerts in cooperation with ZAMUS Köln.
Her passion belongs to the Mystery Sonatas from H.I.F. Biber which she dedicated her master thesis to. Read more about the master thesis here. (Only available in german)
